Janet Leung, Registered Physiotherapist
BScPT, CMedAc, RPT
Janet obtained a Honours BSc in Physiotherapy in 1999 from Queen’s University where she finished as the Medallist in her graduating class. She has extensive experience working in public and private practice including St. Paul’s Hospital and BC Women’s Hospital. She uses acupuncture as an adjunctive therapy and completed her Certificate in Medical Acupuncture from the University of Alberta in 2003. She has a special interest in women’s health issues, and has post-graduate training and experience to treat women in pregnancy, post-delivery and with urinary incontinence. She is a certified Fit-To-Deliver instructor. She is a member of the College of Physical Therapists of BC’s Quality Assurance Program "Registrant Competency Assessment" subcommittee. She is fluent in English, Cantonese and basic Mandarin.
Janet is married with two young daughters who keep her busy and motivated. In her spare time, she enjoys running and photography.
John Perone, Interim Registered Physiotherapist, Registered Massage Therapist and Kinesiologist

John has been a registered massage therapist since 2000 and a kinesiologist since 2004. John has been involved in providing both massage therapy and kinesiology services to ICBC, WCB and MSP clients, including active rehabilitation services. In 2008, John completed a Master’s degree in Physiotherapy from the University of Queensland, Australia. He is keen on utilizing his diverse clinical background and training to provide the most comprehensive and inclusivie program for each individual client.
Robertson Wong, Registered Physiotherapist
DPT, BSc(Kin), RPT
Robsertson earned his Doctorate of Physical Therapy at the University of St. Augustine in St. Augustine, FL in 2003. Before that he earned a Bachelor of Science (Kinesiology) from Simon Fraser University in 1999. His Doctorate coursework focused on orthopaedic manual therapy techniques for the spine and extremities, including the temporomandibular joint (TMJ). Postgraduate training in vestibular rehabilitation followed in 2006.
Robertson has worked mostly in private practice orthopaedic settings, treating patients with ICBC/WCB claims, active rehabilitation, post-surgical recovery, and sports related injuries. He also has experience in treating TMJ disorders, chronic headaches, and vestibular problems. His clinical approach is based on a thorough assessment, followed by treatments using a combination of manual therapy, modalities, and therapeutic exercises.
Robertson also works part time at Lions Gate Hospital in the outpatient physiotherapy department, mainly treating patients who have had joint replacement surgeries.
When not working Robertson enjoys playing volleyball and cooking for his family, which includes his newborn son, Gabriel.
Winnie Chan, Registered Physical Therapist
BScPT, RPT
Winnie has joined the Cross Roads team after working abroad as a Physical Therapist for the last 3 years. Winnie graduated from McGill University in 1999. She has considerable experience in out-patient orthopedic physical therapy working with an assortment of private, MSP, ICBC and WCB clients. Her treatments implement manual therapy along with exercise and education. She is working towards an advanced manual therapy diploma and has post-graduate training in the examination and treatment of women with urinary incontinence. She has also completed training in Clinical Pilates, a program for physical therapists accredited by the Australian Physical Therapy Association. She is fluent in English, Cantonese and has a workable knowledge of Mandarin.
In her spare time she enjoys traveling, cooking and jewelry making.
Dawn Sparks, Registered Massage Therapist
RMT
Dawn has been a Registered Massage Therapist since 1996 upon graduating from the inaugural program of the Okanagan Valley College of Massage Therapy. She started practicing in a busy clinic in Kelowna treating a variety of conditions ranging from overuse injuries to whiplash, lymphedema, and chronic pain conditions. For the past five years she has worked as a Massage Therapist at sea combining her passion for healing with her love of travel.
Dawn has always believed that the power of Massage Therapy should be available to all age groups and conditions and to this end has just certified in Paediatric Massage. She has also done post-graduate courses in Manual Lymph Drainage and Muscle Energy Techniques as well as the ultimate relaxation treatment – Hot Stones Massage!
Dawn is excited to be a part of Cross Roads Physiotherapy and Massage and can’t wait to bring her experience and techniques to you to help you achieve your optimum state of well-being.
When not in the clinic you’ll find Dawn in her running shoes training, in her garden trying to coax a salad out of the ground or playing with her canine friends at the animal shelter.
Yung C. Chen, Registered Massage Therapist
BComm, MSc, RMT
With a Bachelor of Commerce degree in Canada and a Master of Science degree in the United States, Yung decided to pursue a career in the health care profession. His education background has afforded him a scientific foundation for further studies in human anatomy, kinesiology and health and clinical sciences. He completed the 3000-hours program at the West Coast College of Massage Therapy.
Yung has experiences working in the BC Women’s Hospital with prenatal patients, Vancouver General Hospital with burn and trauma patients, GF Strong Rehabilitation Centre for acquired brain injuries and spinal cord injuries, Friends For Life Society for people with life threatening illness. He has post-graduate training in Manual Lymphatic Drainage.
Yung is committed to helping patients to improve their health condition and quality of life. He is dedicated to continuing his education to better meet his patients’ needs. He is fluent in providing patient care in Mandarin and English. Yung loves backpacking around the world.
Marina Perone, Registered Massage Therapist
RMT
Marina has been a registered massage therapist since 2002, having graduated from the West Coast College of Massage Therapy’s 3000-hour program. Since that time Marina has diversified her approach to massage therapy by taking many post-graduate training programs focusing on structural imbalances and therapeutic-rehabilitative approaches to soft-tissue pain syndromes including Bowen Therapy. In addition to being at Cross Roads, Marina is currently an instructor at Utopia Academy of Massage Therapy.
Marina is committed to bringing the very best care and service she can provide to her clients to improve their quality of life and influence them towards a painfree and optimal state of being.
Marina is currently on maternity leave from Cross Roads after the birth of her first child -congratulations!
Mandy Lam, Registered Massage Therapist
RMT
Mandy is a graduate of the 3000-hour programme at the West Coast College of Massage Therapy.
Mandy sees massage therapy as an important tool to restoring and helping to maintain optimum performance and health in the body. Her treatments involve a balance of therapeutic and relaxation techniques, incorporating deep tissue and Swedish massage, trigger point and myofascial release, craniosacral therapy, active stretch, hydrotherapy and remedial exercise. These techniques have shown to reduce neck, shoulder and low back pain, provide relief from tension headaches and aid with recovery from exercise induced muscle soreness, as well as multitude of other soft tissue issues. She enjoys working closely with her patients to develop a healthy lifestyle plan through education with an emphasis on body awareness.
Born and raised in Vancouver, Mandy has found ample time to travel, but always comes back to Vancouver. Outside of massage therapy, she enjoys dancing, walking, hiking, ice skating and snowboarding.
